A visit to York would not be complete without a visit
to Russells of Coppergate.
We are ideally situated in the heart of historical York, close to all the city centre shops, York’s main attractions and theatres.
The short street called Coppergate had its roots firmly established in the Viking period 1100 years ago, and a number of craftsmen living here produced cups and bowls from wood, hence the street name Cuper or Cupra gate in its earlier form.
You can be certain of a warm welcome as you step inside
our beautiful restaurant, once a 16th century coaching inn.
See the original old oak beams and imagine what wonderful
tales those old walls could tell.
Enjoy your own moment in time to celebrate or simply relax
over morning coffee, lunch or dinner in the cosy atmosphere
of Russells of Coppergate.
